Overview

The route with sleeping huts instead of tents: a structured, less rugged climb with a rest day at Horombo Hut before the summit.

The Marangu Route offers hut accommodation rather than tents and suits climbers who want a structured, less rugged experience. The 6-day schedule includes a rest day at Horombo Hut to help acclimatisation and improve your summit chances, through rainforest, open moorland, alpine desert and the icy summit zone. Experienced mountain guides and a dedicated crew keep a ‘pole pole’ (slowly, slowly) pace all the way to Uhuru Peak, 5,895 m.
