Starting in Arusha, this eight-day, seven-night safari visits Tarangire National Park (elephant herds and baobab trees), Lake Manyara National Park (tree-climbing lions and varied habitats), Serengeti National Park (one of the highest wildlife concentrations on Earth) and the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with dense wildlife and Big Five sightings.   1. Jour 1Arrival in Arusha

    Your guide welcomes you at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for the transfer (about an hour) to your hotel. A safari briefing covers the itinerary, safety and what to expect; the rest of the day is for rest and preparation.

  2. Jour 2Tarangire National Park (full-day game drive)

    Drive from Arusha to Tarangire (about 2–3 hours) for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch in the park. In the late afternoon, drive to Mto wa Mbu.

  3. Jour 3Lake Manyara National Park

    A full-day game drive through groundwater forests, open plains and along the alkaline lake. Look for tree-climbing lions and flamingos, and possibly elephants, hippos, monkeys and many birds.

  4. Jour 4Karatu to the Serengeti (game drive on the way)

    Drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands to the Serengeti (about 5–6 hours), watching wildlife on the way, with an afternoon game drive before camp.

  5. Jour 5A full day in the Serengeti

    Morning and afternoon game drives for lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest and zebras, with a picnic lunch in the bush.

  6. Jour 6Serengeti to Ngorongoro (scenic transfer)

    A last morning game drive in the Serengeti, then drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (about 4–5 hours), with views from the crater rim on arrival.

  7. Jour 7Ngorongoro Crater tour

    After an early breakfast, a half-day game drive inside the crater: lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos and, if you are lucky, the rare black rhino.

  8. Jour 8Departure
