Overview
The Lemosho Route is widely considered the most scenic and best all-around route on Mount Kilimanjaro.
Starting on the remote western side of the mountain, this route offers a quieter, more exclusive trekking experience compared to busier routes like Machame and Marangu.
The 8-day itinerary is specifically designed for optimal acclimatization, following the “climb high, sleep low” principle. This significantly improves your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak while allowing you to fully enjoy the journey.
You will pass through a remarkable variety of ecosystems from dense rainforest and rolling moorland to alpine desert and icy summit glaciers making each day visually and physically unique.
Best Time to Visit Kilimanjaro
The best time to climb Mount Kilimanjaro is during the dry seasons:
■ January – March: Warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and excellent visibility
■ June – October: Cooler, dry weather with clear skies—ideal for trekking and photography
Avoid: April–May and November due to rain, muddy trails, and reduced visibility.
Tip: Expect freezing temperatures at higher altitudes, especially during summit night. Proper layering is essential.
