📝 Overview
This 7-day journey explores the untouched coastline of Tanzania where beach meets bush. Start with game drives by the Indian Ocean in Saadani National Park, dive into the historic Swahili city of Tanga, then chill in Pangani’s coral coast — snorkeling, spice, and stories from centuries-old ruins.
📅 Itinerary
Early departure from Dar by road or charter flight to Saadani. Afternoon game drive where elephants roam near the sea. Overnight at a lodge on the beachfront — fall asleep to waves and lion roars.
Morning game drive followed by a Wami River boat safari — spot crocodiles, hippos, and amazing birdlife. Chill on the private beach in the afternoon. Optional bush walk. Sunset bonfire dinner.
Drive to Tanga, Tanzania’s hidden Swahili city. Explore the colonial German buildings, old port, and local markets. Visit the Amboni Caves — ancient limestone formations and folklore. Overnight in a cozy historic inn.
Enjoy a slow drive through coastal forests and villages to Pangani, a quiet beach town once booming in the spice and slave trade. Visit slave-era ruins, spice plantations, and coral-stone mosques. Overnight beach lodge.
Board a traditional dhow to the Maziwe Marine Reserve. Snorkel among coral reefs, chill on a sandbank, and enjoy fresh tropical lunch on the boat. Spot dolphins on the return trip. Sunset at the lodge.
Wake up slow and visit a Swahili fishing village to see dhow building, weaving, and spice tasting. In the evening, take a sunset dhow cruise along the Pangani River estuary. Last dinner under the stars.
